I offer a safe, compassionate, and discreet therapy service for clients who want to understand and cope with unplanned and historic life events.
Welcome
My name is Eleanor Heane Campbell
I am an accredited Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Motor Desensitising Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist.

Whether you’re facing trauma, navigating complexities in family and personal relationships, or feeling overwhelmed, you will get emotional support, clinical expertise and practical strategies to recover and thrive.
As a practitioner, I am known for my clinical skills, my wise counsel and my capacity to support people whose personal and professional lives require a high level of discretion and privacy. Including those who are navigating sensitive personal circumstances that include complex relationships with media, legal systems and public roles.

Sessions are available in person (Bondi Junction, Sydney) and online, so you can choose what feels most comfortable and accessible.

About
I have worked in-house as a clinical social worker and clinical lead with a range of specialist organisations. This has included adolescents and young people experiencing family ruptures, adult survivors of recent and child sexual abuse and people recovering from PTSD and other complex trauma.
For the last 4 years I have been providing discrete, specialist support to people in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney who are impacted by interpersonal abuse, managing complicated separations and parenting in adverse situations. I am experienced in the legal, medical and financial systems informing these processes and support clients to manage those systems.
I understand that difficulties rarely occur in isolation. The systems around us—family, community, work, and services—significantly impact how we experience and heal from adversity. I work with you to navigate these systems and strengthen your support network, so you feel less alone and more empowered in your recovery.

I am now offering individual therapy to private clients in Sydney City, Eastern Suburbs and inner west in my Bondi Junction practice. I can also provide telehealth services to clients who cannot attend in person or are out of area.

Therapeutic Approaches
I work with you to understand what has happened (or is happening) and give you the tools to help with recovery. Together, we’ll decide on the approach or combination of approaches that best support your journey to recovery.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Recommended for exploring and healing different parts of the self over the medium and long term. A form of talk therapy that helps people to connect with the self, facilitate internal dialogues and heal and integrate internally. Helpful for deep healing and trauma recovery, increased self-awareness, emotional regulation, reduced conflict and long-term wellbeing. A non-pathologizing powerfully transformative evidence-based model of psychology which has taken the therapy world by storm in the past decade.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR). An efficient modality for immediately stabilising acute stress and processing specific traumas (recent and historic) in a shorter number of sessions. Helps to process traumatic memories that have become stuck in the brain resolving emotional and psychological difficulties. It uses the brains natural capacity to heal and process traumatic experience using bilateral stimulation such as side to side movement of the eyes.
Additional Modalities
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Used to treat trauma by directly addressing the bodies physical responses and sensations offering a holistic approach that goes beyond traditional talk therapy.

Narrative Therapy
Helping you reframe and reclaim your story.

Solution-Focused Therapy

Questions & Answers
What if I'm not sure if anything is wrong? Sometimes therapy is about reflecting on your situation and establishing some choices and pathways. Clients sometimes just want to get some coping strategies and better understand their situation. This is OK. At other times, clients appreciate doing some work around barriers they face to making changes. And sometimes people break their therapy down into smaller steps and come back when they are ready to get to the next goals. Also some people don’t need change, they just need a supportive environment to reflect. All goals are welcome and respected.Sometimes therapy is about reflecting on your situation and establishing some choices and pathways. What if I'm worried I will be overwhelmed & unable to cope? This is a reasonable concern. Emotions can be strong. We can talk about this concern and how it can be managed. Be assured that I have worked with many clients with very strong feelings around painful experiences and together we have safely navigated ways to cope with and then address those strong feelings.
What if I need help to navigate someone else's behaviour? Therapy is a great way to address challenges in your family systems. I can support you to understand what is happening in your relationships and ways to change the dynamics as well as ways to look after yourself. This includes parenting children with complex needs and in complex situations. I can also assist with referrals as required.
How long does therapy take? Factors influencing the length of therapy include, the chosen therapeutic approach, your goals, and the presence of co-occurring conditions. However, our work should allow some improvement/relief in your symptoms quite quickly.
What is trauma-focused therapy? It is a category of treatments that use somatic, cognitive, emotional, and behavioural techniques to help people address brain functioning, process traumatic experiences, and integrate the trauma as a central part of the healing process. These therapies aim to reduce post-traumatic stress symptoms and promote resilience by helping clients process trauma-related thoughts, emotions, and memories in a safe, supportive environment.
Why trauma therapy? Trauma therapy is essential because traumatic events can disrupt normal brain function and lead to ongoing distress and dysfunction. Therapy helps individuals process their experiences in a safe environment, reduce symptoms like flashbacks and anxiety, develop effective coping strategies, challenge negative beliefs, and regain a sense of safety, control, and self-worth. It facilitates the healing of emotional and psychological wounds, improves relationships, and fosters resilience.
Are there different types of trauma therapy? There are a range of different evidence-based therapies available for your recovery. I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR as well as interventions drawn from polyvagal and TF-CBT because I have found these to be the most effective. I will discuss your individual needs and preferences in our initial consult and through your therapy.
How does trauma therapy help? It helps to provide a safe space to process traumatic memories and develop coping skills, leading to reduced symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, and anxiety, and fostering resilience and a sense of control over one's life. It helps reframe negative beliefs, manage emotions, improve relationships, and integrate the traumatic experience into a broader life narrative, ultimately promoting post-traumatic growth and healing.
Programs & Fees I offer an initial 20-minute consult free of charge. During this consult we will discuss a suitable approach and develop a suggested program. My standard fee for a 50-minute private client session is $200. We can discuss this during the initial consult. If you are eligible or under a Victims Services Plan your sessions are fee-free. Again we can discuss this service and your potential eligibility during the initial consult.
